Miles of Wonderland

£375.00

This painting depicts New Brighton Lighthouse, a familiar sight to everyone in the area, standing proudly at the point where the River Mersey meets Liverpool Bay.

I created the piece in my usual style, using collage and acrylic paint. However, the printed collage fragments were soured from a 70 year old magazine discovered inside the lighthouse itself (an edition of National Geographic Magazine issued in 1955) giving the painting an authentic connection to the lighthouse. One of the first pieces of collage added read ‘Miles of wonderland….and it belongs to you.’ buried now beneath layers of collage and paint those words remained with me and became the paintings title.

‘Miles of Wonderland’

Acrylic and collage on canvas. Finished off with a satin UV varnish and in a white wood frame.

Framed size: 39.5cm x 49.5cm x 5cm (15.5” x 19.5” x 2”) approx
