Marine Lake, New Brighton
New Brighton holds a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike, serving as the perfect destination on sunny days for strolls, ice cream, the funfair, beach, dining, shopping, and more.
At its centre sits the Marine Lake, affectionately known to some as the Duck Pond. A sanctuary for swimming, paddleboarding and other open water enthusiasts! This resilient bunch can often seen facing the chilly seawater, regardless of the weather at all times of year.
The idea for this artwork came after a sunny afternoon spent swimming in the lake. After my swim I drifted out to the centre and just floated; enjoying the peace and tranquiltiy the lake offered away from the hustle and bustle of the land.
Inspired by vintage railway posters, this digital artwork pays homage to Wirral’s beauty, melding traditional and contemporary styles.
The print can be acquired with the location details printed below the image, encased within a white border, or you may opt for the version where the image alone adorns the art paper.
